Hike... Really!!!

In cricket, it was felt that after Sachin Tendulkar, his clone will come and Sehwag fulfilled everybody's wish. So in mobile apps after whatsapp’s success it was almost inevitable that something alike should come in market. So I was not surprised when I received a SMS inviting me to join 'Hike' from one of my friends. So I decided to join Hike.

Will Qwerty become Blackberry's USP?

One of my friend wanted my advice while buying his new phone (thanks to gadgetdost people have started believing in me when it comes to gadgets). So he gave me his requirements, first - no blackberry and second - preferably with qwerty keyboard and last and most important it should be a smart phone. I initially thought it will be half an hour’s job, and I started my R&D. What came out was really surprising. So let’s see what all I’ve found in this search...

Have Nokia and Microsoft missed the Bus

So finally the much talked and hyped launch of Nokia Lumia Series handsets was done just two days back. Call it rumors or news, it was in media since September 2012. So mathematically it is late by almost 5 months, but i think they really missed the opportunity to get back to their position in the mobile market. Everyone was almost certain that Nokia will launch their much awaited Lumia series (packed with Windows 8 OS) during the time of Apple Samsung war, to get the ground. So they started talking about it at that time but were not able to deliver. And by the time they got it in the market, Samsung and Apple both ceased fire and got back to their positions. So now it will be very difficult for Nokia to get into market and reach the top.

Convert your Smart phone into a Wireless Router

Merry Xmas to All...

Okie, so here I am, to fulfill the promise that I made two articles back. I talked about converting your smart phone into a wireless router, so that you can use your mobile internet and share it on your laptop or tablet or even on other phone. So now if you are on move, you don’t have to worry. Simply set your mobile phone in a way that it works like a wireless router and use this to connect to the internet on any of your other devices. The only requirement is that your phone has to be having the Android 2.3 or later version OS or iPhone 4 or later. Menu name and screen may differ with different versions but you should find similar options to activate this. So are you ready to set this up?

What for whom

As we are going ahead in this fast moving gadget world, we are almost getting one new gadget per month. Every time any new gadget gets launched, we feel that it is perfect for my use and I should buy it. If you don’t feel this then there’s definitely something wrong with the marketing of that gadget. So I thought of writing this article so that it can help you in your decision making for the new gadget that you buy. In this article I will not talk about any particular brand or device but I have grouped the devices in more generic terms like smart phones, tablet, laptop, etc and I’ve categorized users, based on the requirements for gadget. So while you continue reading this article, try to recollect your requirements.

Windows 8 – All In One

Microsoft is in the mood of creating completely new things and closing the older strings. First they closed hotmail and created one of the most beautiful web mail called outlook.com. Now they have launched Windows 8, which they’ve built from scratch. No signs of any of it predecessor OS versions. What Microsoft has tried in Windows 8 is a common OS for all devices, be it your mobile phone tablet laptop or desktop. Windows 8 has been created keeping in mind the touch screen and various sizes of display. If Microsoft can really achieve this then it will be a great help to people like us who work on different devices as per our needs. If the same OS is installed across devices then connecting them would be hassle free. Also it will be very user friendly since you will see the same screen on all devices. But I am not sure how far can Microsoft go on this. Only time will tell.
So let’s see what is there in Windows 8 that is not there in earlier Windows versions.
